Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my physician for physical therapy?

No, Nevada is a direct access state. However, some insurance plans require Prior Authorization before starting treatment to receive reimbursement. Please call your insurance to check if your specific plan requires a physician referral.

What will my first physical therapy visit be like?

At your initial session with your Doctor of Physical Therapy, you’ll have the opportunity to share your full story—what’s been bothering you, how it’s impacting your life, and what your goals are. We’ll perform a thorough assessment to understand how your body is moving, identify the root cause of your symptoms, and determine the best course of action. If time allows, you’ll also receive treatment during this first visit, which may include manual therapy, targeted exercises, or other techniques based on your needs. Before you leave, we’ll outline a personalized plan for your ongoing care, including how often we recommend seeing you and an expected timeframe for reaching your goals.

What do I wear and what do I bring to my first physical therapy visit?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows us access to the body area being treated. Make sure to wear running or athletic footwear. We have private treatment rooms should you need to change prior to your appointment. No need to bring any paperwork as everything will be filled out digitally prior to your initial session. To be able to take advantage of your entire treatment time please have all paperwork filled out and insurance card and ID uploaded prior to arriving at the clinic.

How long are physical therapy visits?

Each visit with your Doctor of Physical Therapy is 50-55 minutes.

Where can I park?

There is a parking lot directly in front of our building. Note that we do share parking with the other building tenants so there is no guarantee that you will get a spot directly in front of the clinic. Please allow extra time should you need to park at the other end of the lot.

Why should I choose Physical Therapy?

Choosing physical therapy means choosing a holistic, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of your pain or dysfunction—not just masking symptoms with medication. Physical therapy empowers you to heal through movement, education, and hands-on care, often reducing the need for invasive procedures like surgery or long-term medication use. By working with a physical therapist, you gain the tools and knowledge to take ownership of your health, build resilience, and maintain your well-being for years to come.

What insurances do you accept?

We are currently working on becoming in-network providers with the following insurers: Medicare, Hometown Health, Senior Care Plus, Prominence (commercial plans only), Aetna and Tricare. We provide superbills for any cash-pay PT services. Call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible to be reimbursed for your physical therapy services.

Why don’t you accept every insurance?

We choose not to contract with every insurance company because we are committed to providing high-quality, one-on-one care. You will always work directly with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy—not aides or techs—and you won’t have to compete for attention while your therapist juggles multiple patients. Unfortunately, many insurance companies reimburse at rates that make it difficult to provide this level of care and still keep our doors open. Going the cash-pay route might actually be more affordable than you think—especially if you’re being asked to attend therapy three times a week at a high-volume clinic where your copay adds up quickly. And if you’re on a high deductible plan, you’re likely paying full price for short sessions with limited hands-on care. We focus on getting you better in fewer visits, with care tailored entirely to you—saving you time, money, and frustration in the long run.

Do I need physical therapy or can I start with Pilates or Performance Training?

It depends! If you’re dealing with pain, dysfunction that limits your daily activities, recovering from an injury or surgery, or if another medical provider has recommended physical therapy, then PT is likely the best place to start. However, if your goal is to improve overall wellness, enhance your fitness, or build strength for your current sport or hobby, then Pilates or Performance Training may be the right fit. If you’re not sure where to begin, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you choose the service that best suits your needs.

I’m done with physical therapy, now what?

We offer both private and small group classes tailored to your level and interests. And if we’re not the right long-term fit, we’re well connected with local fitness studios and gyms and will gladly help you find your movement home.
